Chase Conner
Chase Conner, originally from North Carolina, is a senior multimedia journalism major with a marketing management minor at Columbia College Chicago. They serve as the managing editor and video editor of the New Wave website. If they aren't playing at a local Chicago indie show or searching for the closest happy hour, they are working on their gender neutral magazine called Layered Souls based on a community of creatives with news updates on culture. Sae Everett
Shakyra (Sae) Everett is an entrepreneur running her dog walking and pet care business, SAE Woof. On the New Wave site Sae is the web designer and photo editor. She is earning her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in agriculture communication and animal science. At Columbia College Chicago she is taking the magazine editing course for degree fulfillment. In her free time, Sae dances with family and friends. She also teaches young girls how to become better cheerleaders in the sport; athletes at the core; and dancers in the heart. You can hear her at North Side of Chicago singing for audiences of all kinds at her front desk job for fun. Bailee Penski
Bailee Penski is working towards her bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism at Columbia College Chicago and manages New Wave’s social media. When she’s not writing and telling stories, you can find her singing loudly to ABBA, playing guitar or attending DIY house shows.

Caleb Brennan
Caleb Brennan is the copy editor for New Wave. He is a freelance writer based in Chicago and will be graduating from Columbia College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Jade Sayson is a writer for the New Wave website. She is currently a sophomore at Columbia College Chicago majoring in journalism with a double minor in fashion business and PR. Maddy Gardere

Maddy Gardere is a writer for the New Wave website. She is a senior graduating in May 2018 from Columbia College Chicago with a major in fashion business and a minor in journalism. Whether she’s on the way to class or work, or just traveling around the city, she can always be spotted with a pair of headphones dangling around her neck.
